28-year old power forward Samuel Timmins (211-F/C-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for Southland Sharks and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds, while his team lost the game against the league's best team Nuggets (#2, 1-0) 68-95. Sharks moved-up to the 10th position in New Zealand league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 1 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game Timmins had a remarkable 81.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Sharks and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. The University of Washington graduate has very impressive stats this year. Timmins is in league's top in points (5th best: 30.0ppg), rebounds (6th best: 11.0rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 81.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Reuben Te Rangi (198-F/G-1994) of Tauranga Whai. He is international swingman in his first season at Whai. In the last game Te Rangi recorded an impressive 35 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Tauranga to edge Hawks (0-1) by 6 points 101-95. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Te Rangi is one of the most experienced players at Whai and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 35.0ppg (#1). He also registered 7.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Jace Carter (198-G-2003) of Franklin Bulls (#7). Carter got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for twelve rebounds . Despite Carter's great performance the Bulls lost 95-115 to Tuatara (#5, 1-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The season just started for Carter as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
